What clinical mentoring at AHC is

Clinical mentoring at Active Health Clinic is one-to-one support for allied health professionals carrying clients with invisible chronic illness.

Our team has been working with ME/CFS, Long COVID, POTS, Dysautonomia, EDS, Fibromyalgia and MCAS since 2008.

You bring a case you are not sure about. We walk through it with you - what we would watch for, what we would pace, where we have been wrong before. Sessions are online, booked one at a time.

*Note: What AHC Clinical Mentoring Isn't ❌

This is peer mentoring between clinicians. It is not formal AHPRA-regulated clinical supervision, and we do not sign off on your clinical decisions.

If you need registered supervision hours, a supervisor formally listed with your discipline's board is the right path.

Expert Clinical Mentoring

AHC's Clinical Mentoring service is designed for allied health and medical professionals seeking deeper clinical insight and practical support in managing complex and invisible health presentations. Drawing on the clinic's extensive experience, this mentoring provides tailored guidance to elevate your skills and confidence in clinical decision-making.

Mentoring can be provided by experienced clinicians across disciplines, including exercise physiologists, dietitians, and occupational therapists, allowing you to access perspective-specific expertise or an integrated multidisciplinary approach.

What this service offers

Advanced clinical insight: Work directly with seasoned clinicians who have deep experience in chronic and post-viral conditions.

Evidence-based strategies: Focus on integrating best-practice approaches into your own clinical assessments and care planning.

Practical problem-solving: Discuss real cases, clinical questions and nuanced scenarios in complex patient care.

Behaviour change and management frameworks: Explore strategies such as pacing guidance, nervous system understanding and symptom interpretation to support your clinical toolkit.

Who this is for ✅

Clinical mentoring may be a good fit if you are:

An allied health professional in exercise physiology, dietetics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, or a related discipline

Carrying clients with invisible or complex chronic illness, such as ME/CFS, Long COVID, POTS, Dysautonomia, EDS, HSD, Fibromyalgia, MCAS, or similar

Looking to strengthen your clinical reasoning for presentations that often sit outside standard training - where graded exercise triggers crashes, pacing plans don't hold against dysautonomia, or standard nutrition targets collide with mast cell reactivity

What a session looks like

  • Format

One-to-one, online, one hour. Booked one session at a time - no package, no minimum commitment.

  • What you bring

A real client you are working with, de-identified. A summary of what you have tried, what has held up, and what is not working. The specific question you want help with.

  • After you enquire

We will come back to you within a few business days. We will ask what discipline you work in, the kind of cases you are carrying, and what you are hoping to get out of mentoring. If we are a good fit, we will book in a session. If we are not, we will tell you honestly and point you elsewhere where we can.
