What's ME/CFS?

The AHC Program

Our program aims to help you establish a ‘normal day’ or return to work, university or school, and day to day life. Through pacing and gradual return to activity, we are able to slowly and confidently build your capacity, without increasing your symptoms.

We know this journey is a bit rocky so we give you the skills to deal with any future hurdles, through better understanding your capacity and triggers, to setback planning, symptom mapping and providing you with a therapy manual you can turn to in times of need.

Real Talk From Our ME/CFS Practitioners

What is the Program?

Managing ME/CFS or chronic fatigue takes personalised care from people who truly understand it. Many of our practitioners have lived with these conditions themselves, so they know how challenging and complex it can be.

Our program is customised around your needs, lifestyle experience, goals and capacity. It aims to help you build stability and energy in a way that is safe and sustainable.

1:1 Sessions

You'll be in good hands with our expert Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Occupational Therapists.

8-12 sessions

We aim to build out all your tools for your toolkit of ME/CFS management, for some this is a few sessions, and others it can be longer term support.

Go at your own pace

Join wherever works best from you. We can support you in-person at any of our clinics, or online via telehealth. We often suggest saving spoons and utilising telehealth where applicable.

Nutrition Support for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Helping your body feel heard

Chronic fatigue can make eating feel exhausting. Planning meals, preparing food, and even sitting down to eat can use more energy than you have available.

You’re not alone in this. Our Dietitians work with people who live with ME/CFS and related conditions every day. They understand the unique challenges fatigue brings to daily routines, and they know how to meet you at your current capacity.

Our dietetics support program helps you find realistic ways to nourish your body using 'fatigue-friendly food strategies'. It centers around making small, 'digestible' and sustainable changes that support your energy and wellbeing over time.

What Is Chronic Fatigue?

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex and long-term neurological condition that affects multiple systems in the body - including the brain, muscles, and immune system. It is marked by overwhelming fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest, and can significantly worsen after physical or mental activity (a symptom known as post-exertional malaise, or PEM). People with ME/CFS may also experience sleep difficulties, brain fog, pain, and a range of other symptoms that can make everyday tasks feel impossible.

What It Can Feel Like Day to Day

Living with ME/CFS can make everyday tasks feel difficult or impossible. Many people find that activities like working, studying, socialising, or even simple routines at home use more energy than they can safely give. When energy is pushed too far, it can lead to crashes or symptom flare-ups, which may take days or weeks to recover from.

Fatigue is very often misunderstood

ME/CFS is often misunderstood, especially because the symptoms are invisible to others. This can lead to feelings of isolation and doubt. Many people with ME/CFS have had to advocate for themselves through a system that does not always listen or understand what they are experiencing.

You are not imagining this. Your symptoms are real. And with the right kind of support, it is possible to stabilise, conserve energy, and slowly build back function in ways that feel safe and achievable.

Are You Missing a Diagnosis?

This quick, free tool was built to help people with complex symptoms connect the dots. It's not a diagnosis, but it might just give you clarity on what to look into next.
