What you'd do

Support clients to pace their energy, manage flares and build capacity for the things that matter to them, like work, study and social life.

Complete functional assessments and activity analysis, and recommend equipment and adjustments.

Write clear plans and reports for third parties such as NDIS and Medicare.

Help create resources and shape how we deliver Occupational Therapy at Active Health Clinic, not just see clients and write reports.

What we're looking for

An AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist, or someone eligible for registration, including new graduates.

Someone who cares about complex, often misunderstood conditions and finds the work meaningful.

A warm, clear communicator who's easy to talk to and doesn't take themselves too seriously.

Organised, and comfortable with notes, systems and the occasional phone call.

A team player who wants to advocate for people who've often been overlooked.

We hire for the right person first, then train the clinical skills and continue to support their development.

Hear from the team

Changing roles is a big decision, and we know it can feel daunting. So rather than just telling you we're a good place to work, we'd like to show you how we actually support our team.

We're an allied health practice supporting people living with complex, often invisible conditions, including ME/CFS, Long COVID, POTS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Many of our clients have felt unheard for a long time. We listen, we believe them, and we help them understand and manage their symptoms over time.

We're an award-winning practice (2023 Team Culture Excellence), we're growing across our Victorian locations, and we're hiring more than one OT. You'd join a multidisciplinary team of 12 clinicians and 8 admin staff, with regular professional development and round-table case discussions.

We've built this practice so our team can do good work, sustainably

Supporting people with complex conditions is meaningful work, and it can be demanding. So we've put real structures in place, not posters on a wall.

A dedicated wellbeing role - Someone whose job is looking after the wellbeing of our team.

Real-time support - When a session is tough, there's always a senior clinician you can reach straight away. You're never left on your own with a hard case.

Fortnightly check-ins and quarterly reviews - You'll always know where you stand, with no surprises.

Support all around you - Peer, leadership, social and HR support, plus internal and external clinical supervision.

We'd rather invest in people and keep them, than constantly recruit. From your first day, we'll ask what you want from your career and the professional development that interests you, then help you get there.

Some honest answers to what you might be wondering

“Complex chronic conditions sound demanding. Will I burn out?” It's a fair question, and it's exactly what we've built around: a dedicated wellbeing role, real-time support, realistic caseloads, fortnightly check-ins, and a team that shares the load.

“This sounds too good to be true.” We understand the hesitation, so don't just take our word for it. Hear from our team, who does this job every day, and come and spend a day with us before you decide.

“Changing roles right now feels risky.” We know the timing is rarely perfect. We hire for the right person and support you to build the rest, including new graduates and people moving from another area of practice.

“Is the practice stable?” We're an established, award-winning practice across our Victorian locations. We're growing, hiring several roles, and investing in new projects and research.

“I haven't worked with these conditions before.” Very few people have, because there are few places to learn them. That's why we train you. If you've worked with neurodivergence, mental health, MS or neuro, a lot of your skills can carry over.

“Will I just be writing reports?” No. Alongside client work, our team presents, creates resources, and helps shape how we work. Ask us what we've made and we'll show you.

How to apply

You can submit your application here through our website, or email your CV and a few lines on why this work matters to you, to raeya@activehealthclinic.com.au, or call (03) 9878 5394 to have a chat first. There's no pressure.

We're hiring more than one OT, so if you're great but the timing isn't quite right, please get in touch anyway.
